Fiete Math – playful maths learning for kids

Fiete Math

Fiete Math turns numbers into something children can touch and feel. Inspired by the Montessori approach, numbers become objects that children group, combine and split apart. Over 1,000 connected tasks lead through seven areas – counting, splitting numbers, the magic 5, math strategies, plus, minus and practising – all the way up to numbers up to 30. It's the maths lesson that doesn't feel like one.

Numbers you can touch, maths you can feel.

Perché abbiamo creato questo gioco

Most children don't struggle with maths because they lack talent – they struggle because numbers feel abstract and disconnected from the real world. We built Fiete Math to bridge that gap. When a child loads three crates onto a ship and sees that it needs two more to reach five, the number '5' stops being a symbol and becomes something tangible. That moment of understanding is what we designed the entire game around.

Regole del gioco

Children work through tasks across seven content areas. Loading cargo onto ships is one of the central mechanics: drag, stack and rearrange containers to match target numbers and explore addition, subtraction and number relationships. Other tasks introduce splitting numbers, the magic 5 and small math strategies. The difficulty adapts as children progress – starting with simple counting and moving towards multi-step problems with numbers up to 30. There is no time pressure and no penalty for trying different approaches.

Cosa lo rende speciale

Fiete Math stands out because it makes maths physical. Rather than tapping on the correct answer in a multiple-choice quiz, children manipulate objects with weight and size – exactly the way Montessori educators teach maths with physical blocks and counters, just in a format that travels in your pocket. With over 1,000 tasks across seven areas, the gentle difficulty curve means children are always challenged but never overwhelmed. Designed for children from 4 to 10 years, ad-free.

Cosa impara tuo figlio giocando

Number sense

By physically loading and unloading containers, children develop an intuitive understanding of quantities – that four is more than two, that three and two make five. This number sense is the foundation of all mathematical learning and far more important than memorising facts.

Addition and subtraction

Loading more containers onto a ship is addition. Removing some is subtraction. Children experience these operations as physical actions before they ever see a '+' or '-' sign. This concrete understanding makes abstract arithmetic much easier to grasp later in school.

Problem-solving and experimentation

There are often multiple ways to reach the target number. Children discover that 5 can be 3+2, or 4+1, or 5+0 – and each solution feels like their own invention. This freedom to experiment builds mathematical confidence and a flexible, creative approach to numbers.
