The challenge was creating controls that feel natural on a touchscreen – no virtual joysticks, no button mashing, just swipes that feel like kicking a real ball. When we saw children instinctively swipe towards the goal and cheer when they scored, we knew we'd found it.

Children begin by building their own club: choose from 24 pre-installed teams or invent your own, pick from 48 national flags, 64 jersey combinations and over 180 different players. Then comes the championship – matches against opposing teams that get tougher the further you climb. Players swipe to pass and shoot; the direction and strength of the swipe determine where the ball goes. Single matches are short, but the championship gives the games a bigger story: win, climb the ranking, lift the cup. The better the play, the louder the crowd cheers in the stadium.
