Fiete World is an open-ended role-playing game without a finish line. Children explore a hand-drawn world that spans six locations – Mexico, the USA, France, India, the Caribbean and Germany – slipping into different roles, going on a treasure hunt, sailing the pirate ship, riding an elephant or piloting a hot air balloon. There is no winning, no losing, no right or wrong way to play. Just a world that responds to curiosity.
A stage, not a script.

We watched children play for hours without any app at all – becoming doctors, builders and harbour captains in their imagination. We realised that the best digital toy isn't the one that teaches the most, but the one that gets out of the way and lets children lead. Fiete World grew out of that belief: a stage, not a script.

There are no rules – and that is the point. Children tap, drag and explore freely. Every character and location across the six countries responds to touch in surprising ways: dig for treasure in Mexico, take off in a helicopter, jet, historic aircraft, hot air balloon or U.F.O., ride a dinosaur, feed the farm animals or steer the pirate ship. A built-in day-night switch changes the mood in every location. Nothing locks, nothing resets by force. Children come back to where they left off, and the story continues.

What sets Fiete World apart is the complete absence of pressure. No timers, no scores, no levels. The hand-drawn art style – lovingly crafted by our team in Cologne – gives the world a warmth that screens rarely offer. The six locations show people from different cultures and skin tones side by side, so children meet a world as diverse as the one they actually live in. And because the game grows with the child's imagination rather than against it, a four-year-old and an eight-year-old can find something new in the same afternoon.

By stepping into the roles of different community members – harbour captain, farmer, market trader – children begin to understand how a community works and how each person contributes to the whole. This kind of role play is one of the earliest and most natural ways children develop empathy: they learn to see the world through someone else's eyes.
Fiete World deliberately leaves space for children to fill in the story themselves. Without a script, every play session becomes unique – a child might decide the harbour master is throwing a birthday party, or that the farm animals have escaped and need to be found. This freedom to invent is where creativity grows strongest.
Because there is no "wrong" move in Fiete World, children are free to experiment without fear of failure. Over time, this builds a quiet but powerful confidence: the understanding that exploration and curiosity are always rewarded. It's the same spirit that drives great inventors and thinkers – just at a much more adorable scale.
The colourful world of Fiete World is full of objects, animals, places and activities that naturally invite naming and describing. Children who play alongside a parent or sibling will find themselves asking "what's that?" and "what does he do?" – building vocabulary in context, which is the most effective way language develops.
